Ripped off on camper loan, helpful information wanted

Postby GretalUlumquist on October 29th, 2008, 9:26 pm

My husband and I have good credit with no late payments. My question is regarding a loan we have for a Fifthwheel camper. My husband bought a camper in 2004 what we didnt know was that the retail value was only 23,995.00. He doesn't know about financial things. We traided another camper for the new one and the final bill was 31,000.00 it shows on the paperwork that we put a down payment of 3,000.00 which is incorrect and raised the value of the old camper to make it look like it was worth more than the actual value. I know now that this was to make it look like better to get the financing I don't think they would have financed us with out that information. Now we owe 25,000.00 on a camper that is only worth 14,500.00. I want to know if I can deal with them on the price or will it hurt our credit we are just barely getting by right now and I may loose my job soon. Any information regarding this would be appreciated.

Thank you
Gretal

Hi Gretal,

Did the place you bought the camper from actually finance you, or did you get a loan from the bank? It sounds like there was false information, or false claims on legal documents either way. What are your payments like per month, amount, interest you are paying, ect.? How often are you using the camper? I'm wondering if the camper is just sitting there, or if it is a necessity?
