Options to pay off deficiency balance on foreclosure...

Postby CathyEmswiller on August 2nd, 2008, 12:57 am

My home was foreclosed. it was sold by the bank. i was notified today i still owe them 19,000.00 because that was the difference between what the house sold for and what my loan amount was. i have no funds to pay this. if i had this amount of money i would not have lost my home to begin with. i filed bankrupcy 3 years ago so that is not an option. i need help. what can i do. do i have any options of not paying this since they took the home and sold it??

RE: Options Pay Off Deficiency Balance On Foreclosure

If you don’t have funds to pay the deficiency balance, there really isn’t much you can do to stop collection efforts. I recommend keeping your money out of the bank and under your mattress. If you have any assets I recommend asset protection such as quick claim. I wouldn’t worry about it that much because they do not have a judgment yet, I assume. Even if they have a judgment it is difficult to collect on. There is over 3 trillion in unpaid judgments in the USA. If you come up with a lump sum, I can help you offer and take advantage of a reduced settlement.
