Horrible Financial Troubled Woman Needs Debt Advice Please!

Postby Maxine on October 15th, 2008, 10:02 pm

I have been joggling my payments and found myself in a mess that I can not climb out of. The interest is killing me and the debts just keep on growning.
I started by contracting for windows to sell my house now the market is so bad I can not sell. The windows came to 8864.00 now I owe over 20,000.00 plus a truck loan that is due for repo because I have been late or missed 2 payments I am behind on my windows, lost my car insurance the state is charging me 150.00 plus 7.00 dollars per day that I was not insuraned. I rob Peter to pay Paul on a monthly bases. My payments have gone up so high on the windows that it has effected the other payments. this is a list of my debts.
truck that will be in repo any day now is at 18,299.19; credit card 1212.96 that is now 3000.00 paid of Target original 167.00 paid off 272.00 they continue to demand more payment. When I made this payment I called and vertify the amount I was to pay which I did. The Childdrens Place is another one that I paid off amount due was 81.07 , I made full payment in the amount of 115.65 which was quoted to me by phone. Target and Children's Place continue to demand payment and it keeps increasing. I would like to continue my payments for the truck with a less interest rate and windows at the original amount of 142. 00 for the total due amount of 8864.00.

What is my best option to get out of debt?

How would debt settlement help me?

Can debt settlement work with my auto loan?

Does anyone know how to stop these debt agencies from harassing me?

Does anyone have any good advice for me?

Thank You so much for your help.

Hi Maxine! Your situation is actually not that bad at all. One thing to remember is that as hard as it is sometimes, you must think logically about your situation, without emotions or fears getting in the way. The truck payment is number 1. You have to keep current on that, because of the simple fact that you need it for transportation. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "Contracting For Windows," but if you can give me some more information on that, I can advise you as to what to do. Obviously that payment is getting in the way of necesities, and it seems to be the source of the problem at this moment. You must always make sure you have enough to pay your living necessities, because your livelihood depends on it. It sounds like a couple of the accounts are in collections, which means there was a period of 4 to 8 months where you didn't pay anything towards them. In most cases, the original creditor will Charge Off debts after 4 months, and it rarely gets held longer than that. If they are in fact in collections, or even if they aren't, DO NOT send anymore money to them. What you described is a classic example of what collection agencies do to people every day of the week. There are proffesionals that can help you with them, and I can talk to you about that if you would like. If your automobile get's repoed, then the debt can be settled, but I would advise getting caught up on the payments, even if it means NOT paying the other creditors. Hence I mentioned that above. Tell me a little more about the Windows account, and I can see if we can help you out.
