Do creditors have to delete item once they sell it?

once a debt has been given to a collector can you request that the orginal lender be taken off of your credit report or do you have to wait a certain number of years.Does Pa have a law that it can be remove after 7 years. does the 7 years start from the last date they reported ex. last active 6/01 reported 1/08thank you inadvancemonique jackson

You can request it but it's unlikely that they will remove it. They are not obligated to. The 7 years begins at the date of last activity, the last time you made a payment or charges were made.
